Residents of Lingang New City rejoice, as you will soon welcome another landmark to your region. Slated to open in 2021, the cultural center complex is set to feature the most beautiful library in the city, reports Shine.
The project broke ground on January 17. According to the construction plan, the cultural center will occupy an area of 15,000 square meters over eight floors, and will house a theater, a multifunctional center, an exhibition hall and the library. "Public libraries are essential to a developing region like Lingang," Hu Zhiqiang, a member of the Lingang management committee stated at the groundbreaking ceremony. "The most beautiful library will fill that void."
According to Hu, the library will not merely serve residents from Lingang. "It will open to all the civilians of Shanghai and admission is free," says Hu.

There is no doubt that Lingang has quickly risen to one of the most competitive and developed regions of the city. Apart from the most beautiful library, it will be home to the world's largest planetarium and indoor ski resort in the next few years. If that's not enough, Tesla's first factory in China, which recently commenced construction, will also be located there.
