After a year of sweat and effort, we are about to wave goodbye to 2018. While it's the occasion for you to ramble around the city with your family and friends, some roads and metro stations in Shanghai will not be open during the three-day holiday.
From 8pm on December 31 to 1am on January 1, all vehicles are banned from traveling near the Bund. The area is defined by Bei Suzhou Lu, Xizang Bei Lu, Beijing Xi Lu, Chengdu Bei Lu, Yan'an Dong Lu, Xizang Nan Lu and Fuxing Dong Lu. Traveling on these aforementioned roads, however, is allowed.

In addition to road closures, the Nanjing Dong Lu station on Metro Line 2 and Line 10 as well as the Xintiandi station on Metro Line 10 and Line 13 will be temporarily closed to public from December 30 through January 1.
In the same statement, the municipal police also emphasized that closure arrangements are subject to change over the next few days. Therefore, it is recommended that travelers plan their trips in advance, in order to avoid traffic congestion.
