This year, the Shanghai Tourism Festival will run between September 15 and October 6 and just like previous years, a large number of tourist attractions around town will offer half-price promotions for one week. For the first time in history, Shanghai Disney Resort will join the ranks, reports Shine.
The festival will 'kick off' with the Grand Parade during the evening of September 15. Featuring a total of 25 floats, along with 35 performance groups from home and abroad, the opening ceremony will undoubtedly light up Huaihai Zhong Lu with its vivid cultural display. Civilians and tourists will have the opportunity to see floats dispatched by the European Union, Quebec along with Haichang Ocean Park, for the first time.

In addition to the opening performances, there will be a range of events and activities throughout the half-month festival. This includes a beer festival in mid-September, to be held in Changning District, offering authentic Bavarian brew as well as a musical act from Munich.
Performances and parade aside, the most anticipated aspect of the festival is the half-price ticket promotion. From September 15 to September 21, 75 tourist attractions across the city, including Shanghai Disney and Huangpu River cruise tour, will offer tempting discounts. Further details on these reduced prices will be released shortly. So, stay tuned.
