Ever dreamed of bringing your pet with you while hanging out in a shopping mall? If so, then Raffles City Changning (RCC) is the place to make your dreams come true as they’ve just announced that your four-legged friends will now be allowed in the mall.
Don’t cheer so fast, though. Although pets are allowed in RCC, pet owners must follow a very specific set of rules; for instance, your pets must be placed inside a stroller while you’re in the mall.
Renting pet strollers is free with a deposit fee of RMB500
Pets, however, are prohibited from entering most indoor restaurants at the RCC, so finding somewhere to eat with your pet may prove to be troublesome (they are allowed in many outdoor restaurants though).
With a large enough lawn and with no vehicles in the pedestrian areas, your puppies get to run loose as much as they like – sounds like heaven!
RCC’s pet-friendly and pioneering regulations have received mixed reviews. While some opponents fear that pets in the mall might pose as a threat to both kids and food on the shelf, pet owners say that RCC has done them a great favor, and as long as they keep an eye on these animals, that shouldn't be a problem.
