This month's column is dedicated to the cats that have been abandoned in a certain Xintiandi apartment complex. If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please contact the Wechat account SHStraysInitiative, or call (186) 2111-0362. All of the cats haven been vaccinated, desexed, dewormed and deflead. Here are some of their stories:
Pippy
2-year-old Pippy, a gentle, affectionate, and beautiful long-haired calico, had to have a complete shave after being abandoned and having to live outdoors for a long time. There is an urgent need to find Pippy a home as soon as possible; otherwise she will be returned to the compound to live as a stray again. Playful and extremely loyal, she enjoys human companions.
Cleo
Cleo, a one and a half year old female, was abandoned when she was a tiny kitten. She has been raised inside a security guard house ever since. She is very friendly and enjoys the company of the guards. However, recently, she suffered an injury and had to stay in the hospital for a week. Although she has already made a full recovery, it would be best to find her a proper home since it is unclear how her injuries came about.
Fluffy
Fluffy, a petite 2-year-old long-haired female ginger was found with a lion-cut during the coldest months of winter, and was extremely skittish. She has since transformed into a confident and friendly cat who enjoys being pet and waits patiently by the lobby door to be fed every morning.
Smokey
Smokey is a short-haired 3-year-old male. He is very friendly and loyal. Personality-wise, he is similar to a dog, as he loves to follow his human companions around the compound.
Boo
Boo, a 2-year-old white long-haired male cat, is the latest addition to our compound. He has a very gentle and friendly disposition and loves to be pet and held. However, he has been tested FIV positive and can only be adopted as the only cat in a household.
