As the weather warms up, it's the perfect time for a family outing and to explore the city. That being said, tragedies can happen if parents (or authorities) don't pay close attention to possible safety risks.
Last week, a WeChat Moment went viral on the Internet, claiming that part of child's finger was spotted at Jihuabi Children's Playground (click here to read our feature on the ground). According to the netizen, the finger was severed by broken glass on the slide. "Even ten thousand children's laughter could not cover a single child's suffering," wrote the netizen.

"It's not a kid's finger as they exaggerated," one of the security guards who works there countered to Xinmin. "It's just a fingernail with some skin attached to it. Also, the fingernail is actually from an adult.”
It turns out that the glass of the slide broke back on March 4, and the new glass would not be ready for two weeks. For inexplicable reasons, the playground did not close the slide, allowing the accident to happen.

According to the security guard, a middle-aged man visited the playground with two kids last Saturday, and used the slide despite having been alerted about the shredded glass. After he was injured, he left without notifying anyone. Other visitors then took his fingernail to be a child’s finger, leading to the viral post.
The playground has now (finally!) closed the slide, and has announced that the new glass will be set this Wednesday, and that they will reopen the slide on Friday.
