You may think working at the Happiest Place on Earth would be, well, happy. Staff members from Shanghai Disney Resort may tell you otherwise, however, as they constantly get harassed by unruly tourists.
This past weekend, yet another performer at the resort was victim of visitor assault, according to NetEase. The misdeed was exposed on Weibo and went viral, triggering a new round of criticism and condemnation.
As is shown on the video, when two performers, dressed as 'ShellieMay' and 'StellaLou,' were interacting with surrounding tourists, a man suddenly came up and pulled the ear of 'ShellieMay' at full tilt. The performer covered the head immediately and was escorted to the staff lounge by other employers.

This is not the first time poor 'ShellieMay' has been attacked by rude visitors. In July of last year, the mascot performer was hit heavily on the head at exactly the same spot in the wonderland.

Disney costume headgear weighs anything between 3 to 5 kilograms (6.6 to 11 pounds). As a result, any impact to the performer's head could lead to considerable damage.
As in previous instances, Shanghai Disney has tracked down the mischievous man, who will be banned from the resort for six months. However, a large number of netizens feel unsatisfied with the penalty, claiming the barbarian deserves more.
"Why not ban this man permanently? I don't think he had planned to visit there again within six months anyway," states one netizen on NetEase.
"Behavior like this will never be rooted out if they don't increase the punishment," commented another.
