Winter is fast approaching which means smog season is upon us. On Tuesday evening, Shanghai was issued a blue alert for air pollution, the lowest level in the four-tier alert system, Shine reports.
According to AirVisual, the AQI is currently hovering around the 200 mark but is expected to reach "very unhealthy" levels – between 200 and 300 – on Wednesday night.

Heavy air pollution is expected to linger in the city for the next few days. Expect the AQI to be between 150 and 200 through the weekend.
In addition to the smog, heavy fog will settle over the city, most likely during the morning hours, until Thursday. A yellow alert was issued for heavy fog on Tuesday. A handful of flights were canceled at Shanghai's airports on Tuesday due to poor visibility, China Daily reports. So you might want to check your flight's status before you head to the airport tomorrow.
