Remember the newly-born tiger quadruplets at the Shanghai Zoo? Well, these little fellas have finally received their names.
According to Shine, the two female cubs of the quadruplets are named Nan Guai and Nan Qiao. Their surname 'Nan' comes from their mother Nan Nan, which conforms to the tradition of animal naming. While 'Guai Qiao' means cute and clever in Chinese, bearing good blessings for the sisters.

The names of the two male cubs are much wilder compared to their sister siblings'. The 'boys' will now be called Ampil and Jongdari, in memory of the two typhoons which visited the city this year and caused intense downpours and winds.

The parents of the quadruplets, Yun Yun and Nan Nan, were presents from Yunnan province. The two big cats settled into Shanghai Zoo two years ago and gave birth to the quadruplets in July this year. Later, the zoo held a campaign on WeChat, asking citizens to suggest names for the baby tigers.

Now the four cubs are two months old, and they look much bigger than before (see cover image). To manage their continued growth, zookeepers have granted them a larger area to stretch their legs. "They've started eating meat," one of the zookeepers advised. "Sometimes they even snatch food from their mom."
