Swapping a gridlocked freeway in Los Angeles for a wing of classrooms in Fujian, students at the Xiamen Foreign Language School have recreated 'Another Day of Sun' from La La Land — and it's awesome!
Filmed in one take in the same vein as the musical, the famous opening number is framed through the daydream of a bored girl at school by co-directors Jiang Ruiyang and Teng Yifei, themselves graduates of the school.
With lyric changes that recontextualize the pursuit of fame on the silver screen to achieving academic success, the camera glides airily through various classrooms as students flawlessly belt out the hit song.

Reaching its climax, the homage substitutes the cars stood on in the film with desks, as books collectively slammed on the tables wake up the daydreaming girl from her revelry.
Winner of six Oscars at the 2017 Academy Awards, La La Land was released in China on February 14 with an impressive Valentine's Day taking of USD12.5 million.
The film subsequently went on to haul in just shy of USD36 million at the Chinese box office.
