An "unexpected relocation" has forced Shanghai Redleaf International Women and Children's Hospital to vacate its home on Huaihai Lu.
The international facility, which was founded by Canadian investors and is one of Shanghai's top maternity hospitals, will now run its pediatric out-patient and in-patient services and OB/GYN department inside the American-Sino hospital at 155 Songyuan Lu starting from September 6, according to a statement posted on the hospital's website. Out-patient services will be held on the fourth floor and in-patient on the ninth.
Clients of the Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Postpartum rehabilitation centers who were unable to use their full service terms during the move are encouraged to contact Redleaf's team, who are working closely with the local government to provide "satisfactory solution[s]."
Redleaf also noted in the statement that relevant government licenses and permits for maternal and infant health have been obtained.
Take a look at the full statement from Redleaf below:
According to a separate statement circulating on social media last week that reportedly came directly from the hospital, Xuhui District government authorities required Redleaf to vacate its premises on 1209 Huaihai Zhong Lu.
It is understood the land is military owned, and, as so many businesses across the city have found out, a change of policy means they are no longer permitted to lease it out for commercial usage.
