No need to fly to the North Pole! You’ll be able to meet polar bears, penguins and white whales in Haichang Ocean Park, which is scheduled to open in Pudong next summer.
Boasting six large exhibition halls, four interactive and performing areas, 12 entertaining facilities and two cinemas, the world-class 300,000-square-meter theme park is located in Lingang New City in Pudong, right by Dishui Lake metro station on Line 16, and just a 25 minutes’ drive from Shanghai Disney Resort.
Visitors will be able to meet rare animals and ocean fish hailing from the North and South Pole. There will also be amazing animal performances, 4D movies, as well as fun entertaining events on water.

More exciting news? ‘Frozen World,’ the world’s largest indoor ski resort, is also slated to open in 2019. You get to ski to the slope directly from hotel rooms!
In 2020, the world’s largest planetarium will be open in Pudong, too. We heard they are planning to build an 18-meter-long dome that is able to show starry sky at any place of any time on earth. How exciting is that!
