On May 14, high school rockers across Shanghai will duke it out at the 6th annual Battle of the Bands for Heart to Heart Shanghai. Organized by the charity and the Good Agency Asia as part of That's Shanghai and Urban Family's Sound of Spring event at Green City, the competition will raise funds and awareness for children’s congenital heart surgeries across China.
Each band will be given two songs to impress a panel of esteemed judges that includes Shanghai music legends singer Naomi Fitch, keyboardist James Cowan and guitarist Greg Smith, with the winner getting the chance to record their own video thanks to generous sponsor Live Circus. Schools also solicit donations before and during their band’s performances, with the Mercedes-Benz Arena donating a prize for the most raised for the good cause.
