Shanghai Disney Resort reports that from the looks of things, they'll be breaking even this year. Not bad for that 5.5 billion dollar price tag they started off with.
Since opening in June of 2016, the park has already had seven million visitors. The Walt Disney Company reported quarterly earnings reaching USD14.784 billion, thanks in part to the Mainland's Mouse House, as well as improvements made at Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disney.
Shanghai Disney's soaring popularity and high levels of customer satisfaction adds to their anticipation of receiving more than 10 million visitors by the time their first birthday swings around. They even experienced full capacity during the Chinese New Year holiday from start to finish.
According to park officials, Chinese customers are especially attracted by the 'authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese' structure of the park's designs, entertainment and all of the magical fun.
