Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival activities were held in the month of September at ISA International School Guangzhou, consisting of a series of events on the theme of maintaining Chinese traditions and the promotion of the national spirit of China. Another purpose was to further students’ understanding of Chinese festivals and customs. Events included a calligraphy competition, an artwork exhibition, a recitation performance, story-telling, singing and short plays. Other events presented students with the history and significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival to trigger their interest in Chinese cultures. During the third week, students began to prepare their performances. Students were asked to share and exchange their views on traditional Chinese cultures. The Chinese festival activities held at ISA were a wonderful opportunity to enhance students’ understanding of the Chinese culture.
