It's official – world renowned theatrical circus show Cirque du Soleil will be stopping in Shanghai next year, as they continue to develop and expand the program in China.
Despite success in China with avant garde concepts such as an equestrian ballet, the circus troupe has encountered its fair share of troubles in China. But now, with a recent buy-out by US private equity firm TPG Capital LP and China's Fosun Capital Group, expansion in China is on the horizon.
It will be a game changer indeed, not unlike what we're starting to see from Shanghai Disneyland, as Chinese consumers begin to spend more money on entertainment.
