July 1–3: Dora the Explorer Live!
The Nickelodeon favorite comes to life in this English language production by Australia’s Life Like Touring. In Search for the City of Lost Toys, Dora must find her lost teddy bear with the help of friends like Diego as well as the audience. The intrepid explorer must use all her skills from counting to languages to complete her mission in this interactive performance, perfect for kids 2-8 years old.

July 2: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Out of the Shadows
The 1980s hit cartoon series has charmed a new generation with its 2014 reboot, which became a surprise hit. In the follow-up, Donatello, Michaelangelo, Raphael and Leonardo must tap into their collective turtle power as they face off against their sworn enemy, The Shredder, who is aided by two newly converted mutants, Bebop and Rocksteady. It’s not just a CGI fest, as Transformers’ Megan Fox and Arrow’s Stephen Amell reprise their roles as intrepid reporter April O’Neil and corrections officer Casey Jones. The film has already grossed over USD100 million, topping the American box office last month on its opening weekend. Cowabunga!
July 2: Backyard BBQ Fundraiser at G Waterfront
Shanghai Brunch Club and Little Ku Closet team up for a family-friendly outdoor BBQ event that will double as a fundraiser for Heart 2 Heart Shanghai’s mission to support children in need of corrective heart surgery. Activities include a photobooth, a kid’s play area and a contest for best dressed cowboy.

July 3: Central Studios Summer Fair Day
Now entering its seventh year, the photo studio is hosting their annual summer fair. Fashion designers, artisans and other creatives will be showcasing their latest goods with music supplied by local fixtures Raw-B, Allan Marsall, Ado-8 and Cody Allen. There will be a special kids room featuring a craft station hosted by Brutcake, as well as food and drink pop-ups. All proceeds will be donated to The Library Project to donate libraries to an under-resourced school. Past Central Studio events have already led to six donated libraries.

July 3-9: Cirkopolis
Cirque Éloize has blazed trails in the contemporary circus world for their ‘circus in a suitcase’ shows tailormade for theaters. For their inaugural China tour, they perform their Drama Desk Award winning show about one man’s efforts to bring some color into his dreary industrial town. Expect spectacular feats of acrobatics with props like the Cyr wheel, German wheel and the Chinese pole.
