Britannica International School, Shanghai is pleased to announce it has received full accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS), a membership community committed to high-quality international education.
CIS is a global organization of more than 1,300 educational institutions promoting a desire to provide students with the knowledge, skill and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens, and a commitment to high-quality international education.
All CIS members must infuse their programs and offerings with international and intercultural perspective so that students can move forward with the attitudes and understanding that will provide them with a solid base wherever their studies or work may take them.
School members must commit to undertaking an ongoing external quality assurance process to enhance student learning. Schools that meet the exacting standards of CIS in global citizenship and high-quality international education can apply for an accreditation award.
Currently, just over 500 CIS member schools have been granted accreditation. The quality and rigor of CIS International Accreditation are recognized by ministries, departments of education, and universities around the world as a demonstration of a school's commitment to high-quality international education.

Britannica International School, Shanghai, is the only school in the city to be British owned, with fully-trained teachers from the British Isles, delivering the English National Curriculum to children from age 2 to 18 years, starting at the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) all the way through to IGCSE and A Level qualifications.
