Things are about to get sweltering in Shanghai. Brace yourselves: Temperatures are expected to reach a whopping 37 degrees Celsius this week.
Now that Typhoon Ampil has passed through the city, the hot days of sanfu – the hottest period of summer – will continue.
Expect a high of 34 degrees Celsius today as well as intermittent showers this afternoon. However, things will really heat up starting tomorrow. On Wednesday and Thursday temperatures will soar to 37 degrees. The high will hover around 35 degrees through the weekend, according to The Weather Channel.
In addition to the heat, rain and scattered thunderstorms are also expected this week. Here's a glimpse of our weather forecast:

The 15-day dashu period officially started yesterday. During this stretch of ‘great heat’ Shanghai usually sees an average temperature of 29.3 degrees, Shine reports.
