Toy Story fans rejoice. In one month’s time you can celebrate at the grand opening of the new Toy Story Land at Shanghai Disney Resort. If you and your children can’t wait to mingle with characters like Woody and Buzz Lightyear, here is a glimpse of what’s bound to be your next favorite location inside Disneyland.
Toy Story Land, a.k.a. the seventh theme land in the resort, is based on the world-renowned animation series produced by Disney and Pixar. Visitors will feel like they have been shrunk to the size of a small toy and can immerse themselves inside Andy’s backyard with his beloved playmates. Together there will be three main attractions: Rex's Racer, Slinky Dog Spin and Woody's Round-Up.
In Rex’s Racer, visitors can hop on Rex’s favorite Hot Wheels toy car and have a thrilling ride as Rex operates the remote control with his tiny hands. The peak of the track reaches 80 feet (24 meters) in height, which will definitely increase your adrenaline. Rex’s best friend, Trixie, will also be here.
In Slinky Dog Spin, Slinky Dog will invite you to sit on his spring and join his jubilant loop around his food bowl. Being the mildest attraction in the section, the ride goes up and down gently with the music. If you find Rex’s Racer too intense for your little ones, then this continuous caterpillar-style ride will be the perfect choice for them.
Don’t forget Woody’s Round-up, where Sheriff Woody has tamed several horses for you. Jump in one of the tractors pulled by the horses and experience what it feels like to be a cowboy, as the vehicles move around along the tempo of the music.
In addition to the three brand new ride attractions, the park will also launch the Toy Box Café, where Mr. and Mrs. Potato Heads will be waiting for you to serve a meal during your visit.
On April 26, following the official opening ceremony in the morning, the park will open to the public at 1pm. The wait is almost over. It’s time to make a plan with your family and friends and become the first visitors to explore the new fantastic world of Toy Story.
