Last week Concordia International School Shanghai hosted a Q&A talk with writer and former child soldier Ishmael Beah. In his memoir A Long Way Gone, the Sierra Leonean tells the harrowing tale of being forced to become a child soldier at the age of 12.
After being rescued by UNICEF he moved to New York, and now works as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Children Affected by War, and is a prominent human rights activist.
Here is a short clip of what was a fascinating, and ultimately uplifting evening.
