The weekend of November 18-19 will always be remembered as the Adriana Sports inaugural ‘You Are Not Alone’ amateur women’s 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and the excitement it generated for hoops loving females throughout China. As Adriana Sports continues to build a platform for women to thrive on the basketball court, their latest tournament was no exception to creating greatness among the players.
Watching the games meant witnessing levels of skill and competitiveness that prove the popularity of women’s basketball in China is on the rise. As players joined together from many cities throughout China, they used the opportunity to train hard, play even harder and most of all have fun.
The feeling among the players was one of camaraderie, which brought to life the vision of the event’s organizers; to cultivate sporting platforms around the world for women and girls to connect, be educated and succeed in a supporting environment.
The ‘You Are Not Alone’ tournament allows players to come together, regardless of their background, to be challenged and thrive on the court. Following the two days of battling it out, cash prizes and medals were awarded to the top three teams, with first place also receiving a trophy.
The organizing committee were thrilled with the number of players who participated in the tournament and additionally, the high level of sportsmanship. This positive response to the work Adriana Sports are doing in the realm of women’s basketball means there is more to come in 2018 – so keep training and get ready for new tournaments in the new year.
