Aug 24-28: Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty
Knighted earlier this year for his excellent contribution to dance, Sir Matthew Bourne returns to Shanghai Culture Square where he packed the house last year with his legendary all-male adaptation of Swan Lake. This time, he’s given the classic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty, a striking gothic makeover. Purchase tickets here through our friends GoPiao. Aug 23: Ice Age: Collision Course
The fifth installment in the pre-historic animated series goes into space. The film picks up after the events of 2012’s Ice Age: Continental Drift where saber tooth squirrel Scrat has accidentally activated an alien ship taking him to deep space where he inadvertently sends several asteroids to collide into Earth. Meanwhile on the planet, Ray Romano’s wooly mammoth Manny must rally everyone around him to find a solution to impending doom. Stars Dennis Leary, Queen Latifah and Jennifer Lopez return with new additions including comedy vets (Nick Offerman), pop stars (Jessie J), athletes (Michael Strahan) and a scientist (Neil deGrasse Tyson).

Compagnie du Loup-Ange presents this musical featuring two women who go on a journey through the forest exploring the relationships between the trees, leaves, seasons and nature. Appropriate for ages nine months to five years old.

The Stage (Westin Bund Center) has prepared this mouthwatering spread featuring dishes originating along the Yangtze from Sihuan, Yunnan, Hubei to Shanghai. Expect a mix of traditional favorites like sichuan spicy chicken and Shanghai smoked fish.
