The provincial food and drug administration has announced that an electronic tracing system for baby milk powder will be implemented in Guangdong, with results accessible to the public. As part of the pilot program, qualifications of 10 baby formula makers were reassessed. The administration has applied to the legislative affairs office of the provincial government for a regulation to be introduced covering the supervision and management of baby formula sales in the province. The electronic tracing system will cover all producers in the province this year.
