Harrow International School Beijing received a royal visitor on October 24, as His Royal Highness The Duke of York, KG visited the academy in honor of the Hegezhuang Village location’s 10th anniversary.
School headmaster David Shinkfield played host the ceremony, and Prince Andrew; the governor of Harrow School in the United Kingdom Edward Gould; and the governor of Harrow Beijing Kevin Gilbert all officiated the ceremony.
“Harrow Beijing is the result of the Harrow UK governors’ decision more than 20 years ago to perpetuate the legacy and tradition of Harrow through a network of international schools, of which Beijing is the second after Bangkok,” Shinkfield said.
“Harrow Beijing has embedded elements of the educational philosophy and practice from Harrow School with its over 400 year history. The School delivers its Harrow-inspired vision, Leadership for a better world by means of Harrow School’s distinctive education qualitites—high academic attainment, rich extra-curricular programmes, and high-quality pastoral care through Houses.”
