According to Daily Mail, the full-size replica of the famous Great Sphinx of Giza is soon going to be bulldozed after authorities in Egypt got wind of it.
The 30-metre-high, 60-metre-long structure in northern Hebei province caused outrage by Egypt's ministry of antiquities. After finding out China has replicated their cultural identity Egyptian officials demanded it be taken down.
Chinese officials say the Great Sphinx was built only temporarily, mainly for filming movies and TV show.
'We are very respectful to the world cultural heritage and express our apologies for any misunderstanding,' said the spokesman who declined to be named.
