At Utahloy International School Guangzhou, 23 brave teachers from both Primary and Secondary have accepted the challenge of growing a moustache for the month in order to raise money for charity. Headed up by the charming Head of English, Mr. David Pollicutt, the end of the month will see ‘The Great Shave-Off’ in school, where students will get an opportunity to bid at an auction to shave off teachers’ moustaches. Perhaps students can finally have some razor-blade revenge enacted on that strict science or maths teacher! To help out, go to www.justgiving.com/uisgz
At The British School of Guangzhou, several male teachers have braved the challenge by growing their moustaches to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. But it’s not just the men that are supporting this good cause. Female staff members, known as Mo’Sistas, will be helping out during the month by encouraging everyone to make donations and by selling moustache merchandise such as badges and stickers during the last week of school so that everyone in the school community can join in the fun. The last day will of course be a spectacle for students, with lots of fan‘tache’tic fun for all! To help out, simply make a donation in person at the school’s front desk before November 27.
