Once again, International Food Fair and the Parade of Nations, held on March 23rd at NAIS Pudong, was a roaring success. It showcased the amazing cultural diversity of NAIS Pudong in the best way possible – through dressing up and food! The day began with the Parade of Nations, with Argentina leading the way as students, teachers and parents showed their national pride, dressed in national costume and colours, and flying the flags of their countries as they paraded around the school field.
All that marching certainly worked up an appetite for the food fantasia that is the International Food Fair which took place over three hours after the parade. From flying roti and popping rice cakes, to luscious chocolate mousse and pandan jellies, and with just about everything in between, the International Food Fair gave students a small and delicious taste of each of the nations represented.
The day, organised by the school Community Group, also included special cultural entertainment including a qipao show featuring our glamorous Chinese mums, flying tea acrobatics, our Korean mums with an impressive Taekwondo demonstration as well as a special performance of The Monkey King from the Shanghai Opera School.
