Elementary students at Concordia recently returned from a weeklong adventure exploring literacy and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) with Page Turner Adventures, the artists in residence at this year’s Elementary School Book Week. Equipped with special “storyologist passports,” students joined Riley Roam and her slapstick sidekick, Kenny Mikey, for an unbelievable week of story theatre productions, literacy workshops, and other exciting events. Highlights from Book Week included the Great Pizza Contest, the STEAM Trunk Circus Show and an all school read-in. Students ended this whirlwind tour with a Parade of Books, where they dressed as their favorite story characters at were sworn in as official storyologists—experts in the art of writing, reading, imagining, exploring, and creating stories.
