Chinese New Year Celebrations at Britannica
As one of the most important Chinese holidays in China, students at Britannica International School celebrated the Chinese New Year with a range of activities and performances.
Primary school students showcased their progress in Mandarin and their on-stage confidence with various songs and dances. The Kung Fu performance from Year 4&5 equally impressed the audience with a demonstration of the skills that they had learned in their after school activity club.
Secondary students explored a variety of traditional Chinese performances; demonstrating the strength and power of the Dragon Dance and Chinese Drumming while the girls showed the audience the charm and beauty of the traditional Water-sleeve Dance and Umbrella Dance.
Britannica Charity Swim
Britannica International students and parents spent a very enjoyable afternoon on Friday 29th January cheering and clapping the eager student, teacher and parent swimmers as they completed a variety of challenges and races in Britannica’s swimming pool. The afternoon started off with a display of student art work in the school foyer by those too young to actually participate in the swim, with hospitality offered by partners and vendors. All proceeds from the event will be donated to various charities that will be selected by the Student Council.
