On, Friday, June 13, students and teachers from the Luwan Special Needs Education School gathered at the Shanghai Langham Hotel at Xintiandi to participate in the official Angels’ Eyes painting competition. Fifteen students from this award-winning school that is also affiliated with the East China Normal University joined in exercising their creative talents and having a good time at this heart-warming event. Honored guests included the Langham Hospitality Group’s CEO, Robert Warman, the Regional Director of Operations, Darwin Yan, and the General Manager of The Shanghai Langham Hotel at Xintiandi, John O’Shea.
The children enjoyed a day filled with fun as they were led through a tour of the Langham, gaining inspiration from the contemporary Chinese artwork that decorated the walls of the hotel. Each student was applauded for their final pieces, receiving gift packages from the hotel and being awarded specific prizes within their groups. The day concluded with a delicious lunch prepared by the hotel’s executive chef, Jorg-Peter Nodler, leaving everyone’s smile wide and stomach full.
The Langham’s Angels’ Eyes painting competition is under the larger social responsibility initiative detailed in its cooperate CONNECT campaign. The hotel worked in tandem with the local Wuliqiao community in creating this event for the Luwan School. The hotel hopes to use the children’s artwork within the hotel to further contribute to the school and to showcase the efforts of the talented students.
