Cinematic Shadow Play: Feathers of Fire

Directed by the Guggenheim Fellowship-winning filmmaker Hamid Rahmanian, Feathers of Fire: A Persian Epic is a shadow play adaptation of the 10th-century Persian epic, Shahnameh ('The Book of Kings'). As the longest epic in the world that has been written by a single author, Shahnameh narrates the adventures of great kings and heroes. Rahmanian's version premiered at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2016, and its heartfelt tales of history and civilization have captured the appreciation of critics and families alike.
