This summer, Shanghai Culture Square will present the dance production Cinderella. Unlike the familiar classic fairy tale, the show is set in London during the Second World War. Directed by the UK's most popular and successful choreographer and director, it has been a hit since its premiere in 1997. If you haven’t planned anything during Aug 16-19, grab your little ones and expect a thrilling and evocative war-time romance.

Japanese animation lovers will adore this multimedia concert, which features compositions from a variety of Hayao Miyazaki’s greatest movies. From classics such as Castle in the Sky and My Neighbour Totoro to Princess Mononoke and the Oscar-winning Spirited Away, the audience will feel a wave of nostalgia upon listening to these stunningly crafted songs — all due to the immense talents of composer Joe Hisaishi and director Hayao Miyazaki.

Aug 19: The Children Choir of Austria: The Sound of Music

Founded in 1966, Salzburger Children Choir has performed in numerous music festivals and Christmas activities over the years. Brilliant conductor Helmut Zeilner directs the show and this talented choir from Austria will perform songs from The Sound of Music, the world-renowned film which took the world by storm and won five Academy Awards.
