The clock is ticking towards the New Year and in the spirit of reflecting on the year that has passed and thinking about the changes they wish to make for the future, we asked students from Shanghai Singapore International School to tell us their 2018 resolutions.
Ranging from academic achievement, athletics and musical performances to family and enhancing their culinary skills, these resolutions are an eye-opener into the lives of the future generation.
To start us off, Urban Family’s number one resolution – 'Stick to our New Year’s resolutions!'
I have never made a New Year Resolution, so next year I would like to make some because I will be leaving Primary School and moving to Senior School. I will start with two! My New Year Resolutions are to get A’s in all my subjects and to have a bigger variety of friends. My current friends and I will be leaving each other for senior school study. I will miss them but I think that it’s also a good opportunity to meet new people.
-Jade Ruth Rampton, Grade 6
Oh my gosh! This is my first resolution! I have always thought of making one…. Next Year, I will start because I need to strive and to achieve something! As I get older, I begin to reflect more on my actions and attitudes. I want to try my best and to score 90% for Math and 88% for Science for my exams! I will start by setting small, achievable goals.
- Jolene Chu, Grade 6
I have never made a New Year resolution but I have heard all about it before. So, next year I am determined to make one because I am in my last year of Primary school, moving on to Senior school! My resolution is going to be, to work harder to get at least an A for all my subjects. This is important to me because it will be where I get started for further studies in Senior school.
-Annie Han Ju Yun, Grade 6
I have never made any new year resolutions before. So, next year, I will start because I am moving to a new stage of my life. I will be graduating from Primary to Senior school! I have decided that I must try to get at least an A for every subject because I must strive for excellence!
