Remember the Academy Award winning film Birdman? If you have paid attention to the film’s score, then you will be familiar with the name Antonio Sánchez. This Mexican jazz drummer who earned Golden Globe and BAFTA award nominations is bringing his band Migration to showcase the charm of Jazz in Shanghai.

Dec 8-10 & Dec 15-17: Christmas Commune Market
If you want to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the festive season, then the Christmas Commune Market is here for you. The Christmas edition of Commune Market will be hosted at the Sky Garden of K11 Art Mall. As with their regular events, expect to see booths filled with Shanghai-based indie designers, artists and lifestyle labels. The entry price includes two vouchers for food and one voucher for beer. The entry ticket of RMB30 is also available which doesn't contain food or beverage. Kids under 15 can enjoy free entry.

Dec 9-10: Octonauts Live 2 – Deep Sea Volcano Adventure
The Octonauts Live Stage Show is back! Fans of the BBC’s hit cartoon series will see Barnacles and Kwazii on stage again. All Month: Manifesto – Julian Rosefeldt
German artist and filmmaker Julian Rosefeldt is famous for his elaborate visual effects and etiquette editing, such as his latest production, Manifesto. Cate Blanchett is the star of this production, where she delivers 13 different performances, all picked from classical, political and artistic movements. Visitors will not only appreciate the flawless of Blanchett, but also obtain some food for thought from the manifestos presented.

All Month: Garden of Rebirth
Presented by Japanese artists Kazuki Hitoosa and Akira Nihei, the exhibition draws upon the theme of ‘life and death.’ Is death an end? Or is it the start of something new? The artists give their answers through the combination of light and sound. If you are curious or confused about the ultimate question, head down to Modern Art Museum and the exhibition may provide some enlightenment.
