Following the success of the 2016 event, YoMo: The Youth Mobile Festival will return to China this summer as part of the Mobile World Congress Shanghai from June 28 to July 1 at Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre. The event is expected to attract more than 15,000 youth, families and educators to participate in this inspiring, educational and fun event!
Snapshots from YoMo Barcelona 2017
YoMo Barcelona took place in February and hosted an exciting program of high quality activities, which attracted more than 14,000 attendees. The event saw over 11,000 children from 238 schools and 3,000 educators and STEAM sector professionals.
Carles Puigdemont, the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia attended YoMo to highlight the new STEMcat initiative which aims to encourage education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Building from the Success of YoMo Shanghai 2016
2016 was the inaugural YoMo, and with over 10,000 participants, it was a great success. The event put together many exciting activities from constructing a lander for a space-egg, to experiencing virtual reality, smart watch, 3D printing, and building robots.
Designed for young people from 6 to 18 years old, YoMo Shanghai featured interactive exhibits, live theatre shows, immersive workshops, and a wide range of hands-on activities that were engaging, enthralling and exciting!
This year's new STEAM activities and workshops will enable guests to discover our ever evolving and remarkable world and you can learn how to make your own smart-watch and thanks to AR/VR and new technologies you can see the world differently.

1. Shanghai 2017 Stage of One of the Biggest Hackathon!
YoMo is proud to host the LeapLearner hackathon. Over 1,500 young people between 6 -18 year olds are expected to attend the world’s largest hack-a-thon!
LeapLearner's hackathon will feature children working collaboratively to develop this one-of-a-kind computer game with approximately 100 levels across the course of the event. From beginner level to advanced coding skills this special Hackathon will be organized into 8 sessions of 2 hours coding held on-site at YoMo.

2. When Fashion Meets Technology!
For the first time YoMo will show you how intertwined fashion and technology truly are.
Fashion in Flux: A show will be presented to youth to reveal how everything is connected through different examples. How useful are clothes? How fashion can keep you safe? An educative and entertaining show not to be missed.
3. Make Your Own Smart Watch
Guests will get the chance to experience and make their own smart watches that have game featuers, connect to computers and can be used as smart phones. You can make yourself a trendy smart watch by learning how to code and install programs with the help of an instructor.
4. Robot Time
The future is here! Through the use of hydraulic devices, the five fingers on a robotic hand can achieve the perfect bionic action to complete dozens of postures.
5. Lucky Draw Every Day!
