Sorry students, looks like there's going to be more study work coming your way. According to education authorities, starting next year research programs are going to be added into admissions criteria.
High schools are already encouraging students to participate in research programs that forcus on research-based or investigative study. Apparently, authorities have been trying to get programs that help 'develop students' abilities to solve problems independently and creatively' since 1998! Progress.
Starting in 2017, Shanghai high schoolers who are applying to colleges will have to submit their college entrance exam and academic test scores along with individual info on 'personal attributes', such as ethics, artistic literacy, creativity and practical abilites.
