Established in 1865, the campus has an overall size of 340MU (223,617 square meters), and is historically one of the most well-known schools in China and around the world. On June 1, 1993, the Shanghai Education Committee approved the establishment of the Shanghai High School International Division (SHSID). SHSID now enrolls around 2800 students from over 60 different countries and regions including USA, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Australia, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Iran, India, Norway, etc. In 1995, SHSID became an International Baccalaureate (IB) world school. SHSID is also authorized by the College Board to administer AP, SAT and PSAT exams and is an authorized TOEFL exam center.
