The highly regarded Ingrid Millet spas arrived in Guangzhou two years ago, bringing their signature serious approach to skincare. Much loved by beauty insiders for their luxurious facials and products (some even contain caviar), they have added a new treatment to their lineup. Teaming up with anti-aging technology company LPG, they have created a series of machines which promise to firm and lift, smooth and even blast away the fat causing those nasty sags and bags in all the wrong places.
The LPG machines focus on cellular stimulation: the treatment that is said to trigger positive biochemical responses such as collagen and elastin production, lymphatic draining and the release of fat deposits. After cleansing the face, the technician systematically begins drawing a wand across the skin with upward motions. It feels a bit like a vacuum cleaner with a massage function, each stroke sucking the skin up and then lightly beating it. The facial session is completed with a deep, rose-scented moisturizing mask.
Body sessions target typical problem areas (thighs, bum, hips) using heavy-duty machines. After donning a special Endermowear stocking, the huge “mechanotransductor” is dragged across the skin, pulling and pummeling. Each 35-minute facial or body session is RMB888 and six sessions are recommended to achieve significant results. After one, there is a visible lift and smoothness to the skin, and water retention is especially diminished. The procedure can be quite intense, but keep in mind the old ‘no pain no gain’ adage – this is meant to produce results, not blissful relaxation.
