Lights Out! Neon On! Let the Show Begin!
Thanks to student organisers, runway superstars, and supporters, the first annual Charity Fashion Show at the British School of Beijing proved to be a great success. The event, sponsored by Hyundai, and That’s Beijing magazine, wowed the audience with strong strides and stellar performances.
Models from pre-school through to high school (and even the staffroom) streaked with neon face paint strutted the runway donning pieces from luxury, sports and budding designer labels. Performances included the Year 12 boys’ choral ensemble, a science teacher's angelic recital of Drops of Jupiter and, a tongue and cheek take on some 90’s dance classics. All the proceeds go to two charity organisations, the Little Adoption Shop and The Tanzania Foundation fund.
Kudos to the student organisers who contributed their entire weekend, and a small army of helpers who likely also shed some sweat in making the event happen. Together they transformed the BSB gymnasium into an otherworldly chamber of velvet and fluorescence. The dim lighting didn’t faze Laurent Falcon though. The owner of eponymous hair salon coiffed like a true master, producing the stunning do’s and brilliant makeup seen in the picture.
