Join The Bookworm tonight for an interesting performance by Jennifer Wong. She will be reading from her book and talk about her poetry on social taboos and superstitions in a Chinese society. Raised in Hong Kong and educated in the UK, she will discuss how her imagination is shaped by her disparate worlds of Chinese and English language and literature.
Jennifer Wong is the author of two poetry collections, including Goldfish and Summer Cicada. Her poems have appeared in numerous journals and poetry anthologies. She was the writer-in-residence at Lingnan University in 2012, is currently a board member of the UK literary journal Magma Poetry, and is a reviewer for Asian Review of Books. She is the recent winner of the Young Artist Award (Literary Arts) from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and also the Santander Travel Grant.
