An 85-year-old woman by the name of Zhao was found living in a nearby garbage dump after her family abandoned her.
Since her caretaker (her son) died in a car crash last year she has since been homeless, finding refuge in a garbage dump.
After her son’s death Zhao went to court and was placed in the custody of her third son and daughter in law but they took no responsibility for her well-being.
After lengthy negotiations, her third son agreed to allow his mother to live in his the storeroom of his home.
