INDIGO Mall in Jiuxianqiao is having a Mickey and Minnie Mouse inspired makeover, in honor of the Company’s 90th anniversary.
Artists Dorothy Tang, Wang Xinming, Yan Wei and Guan Chun have recreated the classic image of Mickey with modern touches for display within the mall, including graphic elements from Chinese blue-and-white porcelain, another made with crowns and still another made with vines. All are located on the mall ground floor.
The bottom floor will be transformed into a Winter Garden, with miniature cartoon scenes, a Star Wars Lightsaber, a Magic Mirror and much more. Star Wars’ classic costumes on loan from the US will greet visitors upon entrance to the mall, and actors dressed as Disney stars will pose for pictures. INDIGO will also tailor-make a Disney 90th Anniversary Exhibition magnet for guests.
